Selanjutnya adalah melakukan instalasi software-software di atas. Perhatikan betul langkah-langkah yang Kami berikan. Soalnya, masalah sering timbul bukan pada proses flashing, melainkan pada proses instalasi software yang sering gagal. Adapun urutan instalasinya sebagai berikut:

- Instal Nokia Diego 3.07 Sp2.msi. Sama kayak penginstal aplikasi lainnya, Anda cukup menekan Next sampai proses selesai.
- Instal Phoenix_Service_SW_2006_20_9_148.exe.
- Siapkan instalasi crack-nya. Tapi, jangan memulai proses instalasi sebelum muncul pesan "Installation cannot continue without dongle". Kemudian, klik Retry pada proses instalasi.
- Pastikan penulisan file DLL yang dilakukan crack tertulis pada folder windows/system32.
- Booting ulang komputer.
- Instal Nokia Cable Driver.

Flashing
Proses flashing mengandung risiko kerusakan temporer atau permanen. Makanya, Anda harus memperhatikan hal-hal di bawah ini:
- Backup semua data yang berada di ponsel ke kartu memori.
- Pastikan baterai dalam kondisi penuh.
- Keluarkan kartu memori dan SIM card.

Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan dalam proses flashing ini yaitu jangan sekali-kali mencabut kabel saat proses flash berlangsung dan men-downgrade versi firmware pada ponsel. Ini nggak bisa dilakukan dengan solusi flashing seperti ini.

Proses dimulai dengan menjalankan Phoenix. Saat pertama kali menjalankan software, Anda diminta memasukkan informasi pengguna. Hal yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan software Phoenix adalah untuk flashing Nokia generasi baru BB5 yang menggunakan kabel DKU2. Koneksinya menggunakan DKU5 yang mampu melakukan kalibrasi Nokia CDMA sperti Unlock, Tuning Signal, Setting Channel Frekuensi, Edit PRL (Preffered Roaming List ponsel inject), Phone Information, dan lainnya.

Untuk menggunakan kabel DKU5, harus driver-nya harus diinstal terlebih dahulu. Tapi, kabel DKU2 nggak perlu instal driver, karena jenisnya straight cable (penghubung). Setelah itu, perhatikan Device Manager pada COM berapa DKU5 terpasang. Kemudian, pilih File>Manage Connections>New>, lalu pilih Media (DKU5 atau USB untuk DKU2). Untuk DKU5, pilih Manual Setup dan tentukan COM di mana DKU5 terinstal. Sedangkan USB DKU2 nggak perlu menentukan COM penginstalan. Kesalahan penginstalan COM DKU5 akan menyebabkan ponsel yang terpasang nggak bisa terdeteksi dengan baik.

Bila tahap pengaturan koneksi telah dilakukan dengan benar, langkah selanjutnya yaitu menghubungkan ponsel ke komputer menggunakan kabel. Sebagai contoh, Kami mencoba melakukan flashing ponsel BB5.

Ponsel BB5 yang telah dihubungkan ke komputer dalam keadaan Offline Mode akan dideteksi sebagai perangkat baru yang ditemukan. Secara otomatis akan terinstal sendiri driver-driver yang diperlukan. Pilih File>Scan Products, maka di bawah akan muncul versi software ponsel yang terkoneksi.

Ada dua cara, yaitu memilih Product Code-nya saja dan Image File (MCU) serta PPM File secara otomatis akan terpilih. Pilihan kedua, memilih secara manual Image File serta PPM File (Paket Bahasa). Dalam hal ini kita memilih Product Code 0522048 Indonesia Silver Blue dengan PPM File v36 yang pasti terdapat bahasa Indonesia karena ponsel ditujukan untuk Indonesia.

Setelah pemilihan firmware, perhatikan Flash Type. Terdapat pilihan:
- Restore User Data: Sehabis flashing, data yang ada di ponsel akan dikembalikan seperti sedia kala.
- Product as Manufactured: Data-data pada ponsel akan dihapus, sehingga kondisi memori ponsel akan seperti baru.

Pilihan pertama digunakan kalau ponsel nggak ada masalah apa-apa, ingin upgrade saja. Pilihan kedua digunakan untuk perbaikan masalah pada ponsel. Kalau kartu memori masih ada di dalam slot, data-data nggak ikut terhapus.

Langkah berikutnya klik tombol Start, maka proses flashing akan berjalan dengan sendirinya. Tunggu sampai proses selesai. Ponsel akan normal kembali dengan firmware yang telah ter-upgrade.

Proses Flashing ini bertujuan untuk meng-upgrade firmware ponsel serta menambah bahasa pada menu yang digunakan kalau sebelumnya nggak ada bahasa yang dikehendaki saja.

A cellphone is actually a radio transmitter and receiver. It sends and recieves radio frequency electromagnetic waves. The received signals are fairly low level, so I will concentrate on the signal transmitted from the cellphone.

Cellphones transmit mainly at frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 Megahertz (MHz). A microwave oven cooks food using a frequency of 915 MHz or 2450 MHz. In other words, the food is not fussy about what frequency you use, as long as it's in that range, say 900 to 2500 MHz. Which means, cellphones use Microwave Oven frequencies.

A microwave oven puts out a power of about 1000 watts, on average. If you put your head in a microwave oven, it will take about an hour to cook to a nice sizzling crisp.

A cellphone transmits at a power of about 3 watts, and it self adjusts it's power continually to compensate for poor signal paths, up to a maximum of 5 to 7 watts. Not much, but there's a twist...

A microwave oven spreads it's radiation over the whole oven cavity, so that the food is cooked uniformly.

A cellphone has a tiny, array antenna, measuring maybe 2 or 3 cm in length, and it's right next to your ear. So 5 watts of power is radiating into your head into an area of perhaps 3cm by 0.75cm. That's a lot of power when concentrated in such a small area.

The cellphone manufacturers have said that they have put "shields" into their phones to keep radiation risks to a minimum.

If you turn around while making a call, does the call cut out or the audio disappear at any time? No, it doesn't. Radio waves, like light waves, travel in a straight line. If your head got in between the cellphone and the cell transmitter tower, then the signal should be blocked (shielded) by the shield in the phone, as the waves can't bend once they've left the phone.

Which means that those microwaves are going through your head, all the time.

Whenever you're "on the phone," you are being microwaved just like the roast in your microwave oven.

So What Can You Do?

If you've got a handsfree kit, use it if it's practical. Don't use bluetooth - it also transmits radiowaves close to your head, albeit at different frequencies.

If your phone has a loudspeaker, switch it on and speak at a distance. The guy on the other side will still hear you perfectly.

Buy phones with a low Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)

Don't let children make long calls. Their soft skuls are much more affected than the hard heads of adults. (See "The Stewart Report.")

Swop ears every minute or so, to give your head time to "cool down" on that side.

Don't hold the phone next to your ear while connecting - this is when it transmits at maximum power.

Avoid making calls in weak reception areas, as the cellphone will boost it's output power to make sure it stays connected.

Keep your conversations short.

Use SMS's whenever possible.

Avoid sleeping with a cellphone under your pillow. Cellphones transmit even when you are not using them, exchanging data and checking signal strength, at regular intervals.

Avoid carrying the cellphone close to your body. This applies especially to the breast pocket of people with heart problems.

Use a landline whenever possible.

Many people have proven health problems from cellphone usage, brain tumors being the most common, followed by loss of memory, impaired brain function and other symptons. Usually these symptons take a few years to surface.

By taking the simple precautions listed above, we can actually save our lives. Tell your friends too. There's a lot of people out there that need to know these facts.

Berbicara tentang bagaimana menentukan posisi dari sebuah ponsel yang sedang aktif, secara umum terdapat tiga tingkat metode yang digunakan saat ini yaitu :

1. Metode Basic Positioning yang berbasis pada Cell Identification (Cell ID).
2. Metode Enhanced Positioning yang umumnya menggunakan pendekatan Observe
Time Difference atau OTD. Dalam jaringan GSM yang sering digunakan adalah
Enhanced-OTD (E-OTD).
3. Metode Advanced Positioning yang umumnya menggunakan teknologi Assisted-
Global Positioning System (A-GPS)

Penentuan tingkat penentuan posisi atau positioning tersebut didasarkan pada tingkat akurasi
yang dapat dihasilkan dari metode-metode tersebut.

Basic Positioning
Metode Cell ID merupakan metode paling sederhana dalam menentukan keberadaan lokasi dari handset anda. Penentuan posisinya didasarkan pada kenyataan bahwa daerah geografis yang tercakup oleh sebuah cell berhubungan dengan daerah cakupan dari sinyal radio. Ketika sebuah handset terhubung secara aktif dengan sebuah base station, berarti handset tersebut diasumsikan berada dalam daerah yang mampu dicakup oleh base station tersebut atau berada dalam sebuah cell dari base station tersebut.

Dengan karakteristik yang demikian, maka untuk menentukan posisi sebuah handset yang sedang aktif menggunakan Cell ID maka jika sebuah handset terdeteksi oleh base station tertentu, maka bisa dipastikan bahwa handset tersebut sedang berada di lokasi yang dapat dicakup oleh base station tersebut. Akan tetapi dimana arahnya?

Pertanyaan tersebut cukup untuk menunjukkan akurasi dari metode ini masih sangat perlu untuk ditingkatkan lagi dengan menambahkan beberapa metode lain. Bayangkan saja dengan kondisi jaringan yang berbentuk sel, maka ketika sebuah handset terdeteksi berada di sebuah cell tertentu, maka informasi yang dapat dikumpulkan pada saat itu sangatlah terbatas. Berapa jarak dan arahnya dari base station pun tidak dapat diketahui dengan pasti. Tentunya koordinat posisi dari handset tersebut pun tidak dapat anda ketahui.

Untuk meningkatkan efektifitas, seringkali digunakan beberapa buah antena untuk melayani sebuah “sector cell”. Dibandingkan dengan penggunaan antena omnidirectional, akurasi dari “sector cell” ini menjadi lebih tinggi. Dengan membatasi sudut pancar base station, maka apabila sebuah handset terdeteksi berada di sebuah sector cell tertentu, maka daerah pencarian yang mungkin tentunya menjadi lebih kecil.

Untuk lebih meningkatkan lagi akurasi hasil pencarian, metode Cell ID ini seringkali dikombinasikan dengan metode lain misalnya adalah timing advance (TA) dan network measurement reports (NMR). Dengan menggunakan metode TA ini, maka metode Cell ID akan ditambahkan sebuah fungsionalitas untuk menghitung Round Trip Time (RTT) yaitu waktu transmisi sebuah frame (dari base station ke handset) dan waktu penerimaan sebuah frame (dari handset ke base station). Dengan tambahan metode ini, maka jarak antara handset dengan base station dapat ditentukan dengan ketelitian sampai 50 m. Daerah perkiraan posisi dari handset yang sedang aktif pun menjadi jauh lebih kecil. Dengan tambahan metode NMR misalnya dengan berdasar pada besar kecilnya sinyal (Received Signal Strength) yang diterima handset maupun yang ada di suatu “sector cell”, maka posisi handset dapat ditentukan lebih akurat.

Enhanced Positioning
E-OTD merupakan metode yang sering disamakan dengan metode enhanced positioning. E-OTD adalah metode pencarian posisi yang berdasarkan pada waktu. Untuk menentukan posisi relatif sebuah handset aktif terhadap tiga buah base station, maka perlu dinentukan terlebih dahulu jarak handset terhadap masing-masing base station berdasarkan waktu yang ditempuh oleh sebuah sinyal ke handset oleh masing-masing base station.
Untuk selanjutnya dengan menggunakan rumus matematika untuk triangulasi, maka dapat ditentukan posisi dari hanset yang sedang aktif tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode ini akurasinya akan meningkat hingga memiliki ketelitian sampai kurang dari 50 m.

Advanced Positioning
Metode ini merupakan metode penentuan posisi yang paling tinggi akurasinya dibandingkan kedua metode sebelumnya. A-GPS juga merupakan metode yang berbasis pada waktu. Pada metode ini, akan dilakukan pengukuran waktu tiba dari sebuah sinyal yang dikirimkan dari tiga buah satelit GPS. Hal ini berarti handset anda haru memiliki fasiliats untuk mengakses GPS. Tentunya metode ini hanya bisa diterapkan khusus pada handset dengan fasilitas GPA saja bukan ? Dan kenyataannya, handset semacam itu masih sangat langka saat ini.

Namun untungnya, dengan memanfaatkan metode ini akan berakibat beban jaringan seluler menjadi lebih ringan. Secara umum, informasi yang normalnya didekodekan oleh GPS receiver dari satelit-satelit tersebut dikirimkan ke handset melalui gelombang radio akan memberikan peningkatan terhadap waktu dan mengurangi penggunaan battere karena handset tidak perlu harus mencari dan mendekodekan sinyal dari satelit. A-GPS juga menghasilkan akurasi secara vertikal dan estimasi jarak yang baik. Akurasinya pun sampai kurang dari 10 m. Untuk urusan pengiriman sinyal data GPS, handset membutuhkan waktu sekitar 10 detik, akan tetapi sekali data berhasil diterima, maka data tersebut dapat berguna hingga 4 jam.

Apapun metode yang digunakan oleh pihak kepolisian untuk menangkap para buronan maupun tersangka kriminal yang dicurigai beberapa waktu lalu, rasanya hal itu bukanlah menjadi hal yang terlalu penting buat kita. Bagaimanapun, acungan jempol patut kita berikan pada seluruh jajaran kepolisian di Indonesia dalam kasus ini. Namun, tentunya pihak yang berwenang harus semakin menyadari betapa pentingnya teknologi dalam membantu tugasnya sehari-hari. Dan memang dalam kasus ini, teknologi mungkin hanya memegang peranan sekitar 10% persen saja, sisanya barangkali adalah nasib baik saja. Akan tetapi keberhasilan ini, patut menjadi pelajaran berharga agar jajaran kepolisian semakin membenahi metode-metode pelacakannya.

Teknik Melepaskan IC

Pada kali ini kami akan memberikan tips reparasi ponsel khususnya tips dalam melepaskan atau pencabutan IC yang diberi lem, sebab memang teknik pencabutan IC yang diberi lem ini lebih sulit dan lebih beresiko dibanding pencabutan IC yang tidak diberi lem.

Letak posisi IC pada PCB ponsel ada dua yaitu IC yang di lem ( resin ) dan ic yang diletakkan tanpa lem . untuk pengangkatan IC yang tidak dilem telah kita pelajari dan kali ini akan kita pelajari bagaimana cara pengangkatan IC yang dilem .Banyak kesalahan yang dilakukan ketika memindahkan atau mengangkat IC yang dilem dan memang dalam pengangkatan IC yang dilem ini mempunyai resiko yang cukup besar yaitu dapat terjadinya kerusakan putus jalur atau kerusakan pada PCB ponsel, Resiko yang diambil dalam mengerjakan komponen ini cukup besar, bayangkan saja jika anda mempunyai kerusakan no charging pada ponsel anda, setelah dianalisa kerusakan tersebut diakibatkan karena IC UEM (Universal Energy Management) dan ternyata chip tersebut dilem atau dilindungi oleh sejenis resin maka pengangkatan yang salah pada chip tersebut dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan yang lebih parah yaitu ponsel bisa terjadi mati total. Tentunya anda tidak mau ponsel anda jadi korban, Nah resiko inilah yang harus diambil oleh seorang teknisi, karena itu konfirmasi terhadap customer sangat diperlukan sebelum melakukan reparasi ponsel tersebut.

IC yang dilem dibuat bukan untuk sulit dibongkar atau dilepaskan, melainkan untuk mempertahankan dudukan IC tersebut agar chip tersebut dapat tahan air, tahan benturan keras dan tidak mudah copot atau renggang yang dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan .Bagi pengguna ponsel sebenarnya merupakan keuntungan tambahan yang diberikan oleh sebuah produk tetapi tetap mempunyai kelemahan yaitu jika terjadi kerusakan pada chip tersebut maka proses penggantiannya mempunyai resiko yang lebih fatal. Zat lem yang digunakan untuk perekat ini yaitu seperti silikon atau resin padat yang dipanaskan bukannya mencair melainkan menjadi ‘getas’ dan merekat kuat untuk diangkat. Umumnya IC yang diberi perekat ini jika kita lepaskan dari PCB maka chip tersebut akan rusak, akibat pemanasan yang berlebihan untuk melepaskan lemnya.

Alasan lain terjadi proses pengangkatan UEM yang dilem :

1- Masuk air yang dapat merusakkan uem

2- Terbakar atau korslet dalam kaitan dengan tegangan tinggi dari proses charge

3- 30 detik autoshut Off biasanya setelah perbaikan imei

4- Insert simcard ( masukkan kartu sim ) meskipun simcard telah terpasang dan lain -lain

Menggantikan IC UEM Glued atau chip yang di lem memang agak sulit dan memerlukan konsentrasi penuh. Salah satu penyebab kesulitan pengangkatan IC yang dilem ini adalah penggunaan alat yang tidak standar dalam melakukan aksi reparasi. Perlu diketahui untuk investasi alat standar pengangkatan chip BGA diperlukan dana sekitar $ 15,000 – 75,000, dan tentunya bukan jawaban yang murah dan baik . Bila kita ingat kata pepatah tidak ada rotan akarpun jadi maka teknisi pun mencoba atasi hal ini dengan cara lain yaitu tetap menggunakan solder uap untuk pengangkatannya.

Alat – alat yang dipersiapkan :

solder uap
siongka pasta atau flux
pisau pemotong ( biasanya digunakan pisau bedah yang mempunyai mata yang lancip dan mata yang rata )
pinset
penjepit board ( papan penjepit )

cara kerja :

Gunakan solder uap dengan temperatur panas 350 – 400˚c tekanan udara 2,5 – 3 atau tergantung dari blower yang anda gunakan
Letakkan PCB ponsel pada papan penjepit agar sewaktu proses kerja tidak terjadi pergeseran atau goyang
Gunakan flux yang bagus dan letakkan pada area atas dan bola – bola timah IC . fungsi flux adalah untuk mengurangi kerusakan pada PCB

Gunakan pisau pemotong dengan ujung lancip pada sisi Ic yang berfungsi untuk mencongkel dan mengangkat ic dari PCB. Pengangkatan ini memerlukan konsentrasi penuh agar tidak merusakkan banyak jalur dan kemungkinan dapat terbang atau hilang komponen pendukung lainnya.

Pemanasan dengan temperatur yang sedang untuk mengangkat sisa lem atau resin memerlukan kesabaran dan diperlukan waktu sekitar 2 – 5 menit ,jadi cukup menyita waktu.jangan mengangkat chip sebelum yakin timah tersebut sudah cair merata, biasanya dapat dilihat melalui keluarnya beberapa timah dari chip akibat tekanan panas yang diberikan.

Setelah IC terangkat maka dapat terlihat sisa- sisa lem yang terletak pada pcb, sewaktu proses pengangkatan yang lebih bagus sisa – sisa lem menempel pada IC sehingga tidak perlu lagi membersihkan sisa lem dan hanya mengganti Ic dengan yang baru.

Bersihkan sisa - sisa lem dengan pisau pemotong yang mempunyai ujung mata yang rata. Proses kerja ini diiringi dengan penggunaan solder uap dengan tekanan udara yang rendah, menggunakan flux dan dikerjakan bertahap untuk menghindari putus jalur pada PCB. Arah pisau usahakan searah dan tidak acak – acakan .

Setelah sisa lem pada PCB hilang tunggu sampai PCB dingin lalu bersihkan PCB dengan menggunakan cairan IPA ( Iso Propanol Alkohol ).agar PCB lebih bersih dan mudah meletakkan chipnya kembali. (By: www.wahanaponsel.com)
